Using Car Stickers to Promote your Restaurant

Imagine having millions or even billions of mini billboard moving around your city. And with minimal cost to your business. Imagine other people promoting your restaurant. All this can be achieve using Window Car Stickers. Hand out unique car stickers to your customers and also people in your area. Let them stick on their window and when they drive around you will have a moving Billboard. Below is from my Restaurant Promotion Ideas website about the usage of Car Stickers to promote your restaurant.

Restaurant Promotion Ideas #42 – Car Stickers

I noticed some unique car stickers on car windows from Starbucks and 7eleven. This got me thinking that it is a great advertising avenue for my restaurants. Cause cars are  moving around, so you got a free promotion billboard moving around your city. So if your sticker unique as well as eye catching, people notice your logo. Make sure you put your address on it. In cities, there is traffic jams and also massive parking lots.  So people will have time to take down your number or your website address.

Create Awesome New Year's Eve Memories to keep People Comng Back for More

In 2001, the National Restaurant Association estimated that 100 million Americans plan to celebrate the New Year by going out to a retaurant or bar. Their survey showed that one in five Americans will go to a bar or restaurant on New Year's Eve. So in order to close he year with a bang, there's alot you need to do. You must promote fast to get the people into your door on New Year's Eve. After you get people in, you need to make your party awesome, so they will return next yearand the following year. In my Restaurant Promotion Ideas site, I have listed some ways that I do to amp my Ne Year's Eve Party.

Restaurant Promotion Idea # 41 – Make your New Year party Memorable to keep them coming back

New Year’s Eve day, is an opportunity to let your hair down as well as party with friends. There are lots of reasons to celebrate New Year’s Eve. You can say to celebrate a fantastic year thats passing.  Or perhaps you can say goodbye to a not so good year and hope the coming year will be better. Most people will start searching for party venues early. Thus begin early to promote your restaurant or bar  to be ahead of the rest. Get your entertainment plan early. Cause this is when the good entertainers get booked early. Make sure you have enough staff as well as beverages. Do you need to have any special food? Pretty much everything in place, you still need to plan some activities to make your New Year’s Eve party even awesome. So people will come back next year and the following year. Here are some ideas on how to amp up your party. Some I have carried out and some I am going to try.

1. Create a Theme

Rather than doing just a normal Countdown Party, do a party with a theme. This year I am going to do a “Mad Hatter Party”. My staff will put on different hats and the customer who comes in wearing funny hat will get a10% off on their beverage bill. There are many theme party ideas that you can do. Some examples are a Mardi Gras or even a Hawaiian Luau theme. Do something out of the ordinary that will “WOW” your customers. So they will be back next. I stumbled upon this great website on how to organise a theme party in your restaurant or bar. Please click here www.gourmetmarketing.net

Restaurant Promotion Ideas #11. Menus

Another great promotional tool that is often overlooked is your restaurant menu. Like I have mentioned in my Previous Post “Creating Great Customer Service Culture", first impression counts. Remember that the entire menu will compliment the restaurant theme. If your menu is not appetizing to look at, people will have the same impression of your food. Most restaurants put fancy words to describe their food. But fancy words and fancy fonts to me can be a deterrent for people to order something different from what they know. Most people will not take a chance in ordering an item that they are not sure about or they might not like. Also avoid jargons or terms that only a few people can understand. I have seen some menus that are so beautiful like a works of art, a masterpiece but if your customers finds it hard to read then what's the point. It’s like a beautifully painted house without any door, you can't get in. The menu must also be easily readable, so the size of the font is equally as important as what font you plan to use. The lighting in your place is another factor to consider when choosing your characters. If your place is designed to be dimly lit, then a bright colored font will be great. Usually, dark colored font on a white or light colored paper is much easier to read. I worked in a pub where the words in the menu were luminous as the place was dark. I felt that this is a great idea.

Recently in the Coffeeshop that I manage, I have added pictures of the food to our menu. I recently took up another hobby. Its photography which I took up after our owner gave the hotel a DSLR camera. Reason is he saw that with today's technology we could add food pictures to our printed materials and didn't need a professional to take out the photos for us. We could do it by ourselves and put in on the menu easily. By adding pictures next to the description of the food, I have noticed that the customers were more adventurous. Trying out different items. But make sure your kitchen brings out the food exactly as what is in the picture, or else you will have a lot of problems. Take mouthwatering shots like the pink area of a lamb, the juicy part of the steak. I usually use Google Image to see what other restaurants use to get an idea on how my pictures should look like. In this sense the saying “A picture says a thousand words" it’s true. A beautifully photographed picture of your food is thousand times better than all the description you can write.

Also pay attention to how your menu looks. If it’s old and tattered discard it. A dirty menu will also turn away the guest.

A Restaurant Promotion Idea- Watch Reality Shows

I know this goes against what some parents told us when we were kids. That in order to succeed we need to watch less TV and study more. And I'm aware that some reality shows bring out the bad side in people. But there some if you cut out the backbiting and bad sides of humans, can be a great learning process. One such show that I loved to watch was "The Apprentice", the show with Donald Trump. The show is about people working in teams at projects in order to be the last one standing to be "The Apprentice” for Donald Trump. There is one episode that is an example to what you can learn from it. It was the one when each team had to promote a product using a limited amount of money. One team used their money to promote at the back horse drawn carriages. As promoting on horse drawn carriages was expensive, they managed to get only 10 carriages. Another team promoted on sandwich boards carried by people walking around. Promoting on sandwich boards were much cheaper, they managed to get 50 sandwich boards moving around the town. So from there you can see who had the most coverage. From this episode I learnt that if I put up one banner, how strategic the location may be. You will only capture a certain amount of coverage. But if you put up buntings around you will capture more people. And I have also learnt that the overhead for putting up 30 buntings is the same as putting up one banner. So now I put up more buntings. Another great reality show is "Restaurant Makeover". It has a lot of ideas on how to design a restaurant. And the ideas are very simple and nice.   This Reality Show is about two people (a designer and a chef) helping people to revise and revitalize their restaurant. The Restaurant Makeover team has only 6 days to make the restaurant with a new menu and design with a limited amount of money. The ideas that come out are great and simple and also don’t take too much money. I have also learnt that you don’t need a large menu to attract people just a small one with all your specialties.
