Restaurant Promotion Idea #22- Little Things to Help your Customers Spend More

Some Ways on Getting your Customers to Spend More
My boss liked to use this quote often. He used to say “A Customer is a Person who has Our MONEY in his Pocket“. Then he goes on to say how we are going to take our money from him. If you think that this quote is dishonesty, then you are in the wrong line of business. You have spend thousands on advertising and promotions, you need to get the returns right. Once a customer steps into your restaurant he has set his mind that he is going to eat here. Most of the time the customer has already decided what to eats. In my restaurants I use certain tactics to get the customer to spend more. The methods are simple task that you and your staff can do in order to increase your sales from the existing customers. To read more, please CLICK HERE

Restaurant Promo Ideas for April 2014

April Fool’s Day is the best time to do outrageous restaurant promotions as well as some harmless prank on your customers. This will give them a reason to have a good laugh which in turn will make them remember your restaurant. If they put it on facebook as well as tweet about it, then others will probably notice your restaurant too. One such prank was the Burger King’s Left Handed Whooper. In 1998 Burger King advertised that they have created a new of burger called “left-handed” Whopper intended for left handed individuals. They claim that the ingredients was positioned in such a way that left handed individuals will enjoy it much better. The sandwich joke was extremely well-liked particularly after people began requesting left or right-handed Whoppers. To know more, please CLICK HERE

Restaurant Promo Ideas for July

The month of July this year is an important month as it’s the Holy Month of Ramadhan. A month in which around the globe, Muslims will be fasting from sunrise to sunset. This is the time when most restaurants as well as hotels will set up a lavish buffet in order to lure customers to their outlet. Muslims in Malaysia usually start eating out about a week after the start of Ramadhan. Considering that your restaurant are located in a predominant Muslim community, try setting up a buffet. For a start you don’t have to have it every day, give it a try on Fridays and Saturday. A word| of caution, seeing that RamadhĂ n is the Holy Month ensure you consider the religious taboos of the Muslim customers. Some examples are you must be pork free as well as alcohol free. If you are not able to meet this criteria than its no point doing a Ramadan Buffet. Read more, please CLICK HERE.

Restaurant Promo Ideas # 24 :- Chef’s Night Buffet

Hire a Celebrity Chef

One promotional activity that some restaurants as well as hotels prefer to carry out is to have Guest Chefs. Should they possess the budget, they will get a Celebrity Chef to prepare some dishes. Most of time hiring a Celebrity might not bring you the profit you desire after taking out the chef’s expenses as well as their perks. However its a good advertising and marketing hook in order to let people know that you are around. Nevertheless, you also need to ensure that your kitchen prepares food as good as that which was made by the Celebrity Chef or else you will only end up being busy when the he is around. Another alternative would be to create certain theme and obtain Chefs from that region to prepare. Read more, please CLICK HERE.

Restaurant Promo Ideas #25 :- Hometown Celebrity Chef

Create Your Very Own Hometown Celebrity Chef

Coming back to creating your very own Hometown Celebrity Chefs, organize a cooking competition for the locals in your area. Don’t go for the norm of submitting recipes like some competitions require. Do something different as well as enjoyable. Do something from the Reality Shows example the Masterchef, Chopped, Top Chef| or maybe Iron Chef. To know, please CLICK HERE.

Restaurant Promotion for October – Fun & Scary Halloween

October is the month to hold fun as well as scary promotional activities in your establishment. Its Halloween month. Host a Halloween bash in your bar or restaurant. If you are managing a restaurant come out with seasonal specialties such as Pumpkin Soup, Apple Cider Stew and so forth. Redesign the items by adding some gore into it. Send out free invitations to your regulars. Come out with humorous eye catching flyers. This year I am developing a doorknob flyer shaped like a white ghost and I will hang it on our room guest doors in the afternoons. This will certainly catch their attention when they return to their rooms in the evenings. As for the bar or pub create some gory cocktails and have fun games. To know more, please CLICK HERE.

Restaurant Promotion Ideas # 26 – Bar Games

Adding Bar Games to Increase Revenue

Bar games are a good way to maximize your sales with your current guest and also to create an atmosphere of fun and laughter in your establishment. There are a number of bar games that you can buy and use, all depending on the kind of bar that you have and how much fun your customers likes to have. Apart from the normal darts and pool, I have also purchased some table drinking games that can be played at the guest table. Here are two of the games that I purchased recently, please CLICK HERE.

The Art of War - Importance of Time Off for your Employee

November and December is a very busy month for hotels in Malaysia. Its the last term school holidays leading to Christmas and New Year. Families will be traveling, some resorts will be full during the durations. Manpower will be stretch to limit as this is the last two months for the year to maximize revenue and profit. What most of these hotels fail to see is what Sun Tzu in Chapter 2- Waging War  about prolong war.

"There is no instance of a country having benefited from prolonged warfare"  Verse 6, Chapter 2 Waging War.

What I see is the staff will get very exhausted as some companies even hold back leaves and offdays. When the staff energy level and morale is low, then service level will also decline. When service level declines, customers are not happy. When customers are not happy, what do they do nowadays. They not only don't come back, they let everyone know of their unhappiness. They write in reviews, blogs, social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and so on. Then the whole world will know your service sucks. Sun Tzu's have another quote for this situation.

"Now, when your weapons are dulled, your ardor damped, your strength exhausted and your treasure spent, other chieftains will spring up to take advantage of your extremity. Then no man, however wise, will be able to avert the consequences that must ensue"  Verse 4, Chapter 2-  Waging War.

So what I normally do when the busy season is about to come. I will source for partimers so as I can reduce the extra working hours of my permenant staff. So they will be well rested. And I also give them time off to go for holidays with their family, especially those with school going kids. These are the perks thats is better than money. They will really appreciate you and work hard for you. Always remember that your staffs are humans too, they have feelings.
As Sun Tzu said in Chapter 9.

"Therefore soldiers must be treated in the first instance with humanity, but kept under control by means of iron displine. This is a certain road to victory" Verse 43, Chapter 9'

Most people will say that its not honest to use spies in what we do. But I don't agree with this statement. Spies if used with integrity and honestly can be a great asset to an establishment. With spies you can know why the competitors is getting more business or what they are doing differently. Maybe their product or sales team is better, so then you can improve your product or team with this piece of info. That is why Sun Tzu has dedicated a chapter on the use of spies. Below is one of the verse "Knowledge of the enemy's dispositions can only be obtained from other men." Verse 6 Chapter 13. THE USE OF SPIES Even the office gossip is useful.

Restaurant Promotion Ideas for January

January is a very slow month in terms of revenue for the hospitality industry. Most business will slow down spending in January as schools reopen and parents will concentrate on their school going kids. People will also reduce spending after the holidays. Some places might give their staff a few days leave to rejuvenate after the busy holiday season. So January is not the best time for the restaurant industry. But you have still have overheads to pay, you still need to get people into your restaurant to cover your fixed cost. Below are some restaurant promotion ideas that you could try to fill up this slow month.

 Hospitality Industry Specials

January is also the National Thank You month and the Be Kind to your Servers month. You can capitalize on this. Give out discounts and special offers to people in the hospitality industry. As mentioned above some companies will be giving their staffs a break. So of course these staffs will look for a place to unwind. Work with your local inns or tour companies to create a special package just for the people in the hospitality industry. My former General Manager of the hotel where I used to work did just this. He created a package just for the people in the industry for the month of January, that’s how he managed to fill up the hotel rooms when the other hotels were empty.

Hold Events

If you have a large parking space, why don’t hold some events like vintage vehicles or a flea market where the local community can showcase their pride and joy or products. Large shopping centers in Malaysia are doing just that. They loan out their space to the locals to sell their wares once or twice a week. People also drop in to these supermarkets to do their shopping too after they go through the local market. Even if you don’t have a large car park, you can showcase some local artist. Put up on the wall their paintings with a price tags. Cause these artist might have their followers or even their Facebook page, which is free advertisement for your restaurant and also help to decorate your outlet. That’s what we call “killing 2 birds with one stone.

Appreciation Dinner.

Choose a day and invite alÄş your regulars for dinner to thank them for their support. This is also a great avenue to showcase some of your new dishes for the new ala carte for 2015. You can even create a recipe book to give out to the ladies. In my Restaurant Promotion Idea #18 – Publish and Give out Recipe Books , I mentioned about the benifits of having your very own recipe. To visit the article. please Click Here

Hold Little Tournaments.

‘If you running a bar or pub, do little tournaments to bring in the crowd. Visit my post in Restaurant Promotion Ideas # 5:- Do LittleTournaments, on the steps I took to organise a Dart Competition. You can also do Cooking competition, where the winning dish will be featured in the new ala carte. To know more, please click here Restauran Promo Ideas #25- Hometown Celebrity Chef

.January might be a slow month for some. But if you carefully observe there might be an opportunity to capitalize on it. I leave you with a quote from this famous person.

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

When I was attached to a beautiful resort in a little village on the East Coast of Malaysia known as Cherating. Each year for a month in September we used to bring Chefs from our sister property in Thailand to do a month long Thai Promotion. We did some fruit carving as well as Thai food cooking classes for our guests. We even hired a Tuk tuk to shuttle guests from town to our resort. It was really fun. Read more here Click Here

Fun Learning Petrosains Science Discovery Centre

An Educational Outing at Petrosains KLCC

Petrosains

We went there after having lunch at the Food Court on the 4th floor of the Petronas Twin Towers. Bought tickets at the counter, which was quite cheap RM15.00 for Adults and RM5 for children aged 3-12 years old.

We spent almost 2 hours there. One good thing that the Petrosains Management did was put up rest areas everywhere, people can rest while their kids explore their many exhibits. Not many places I've been think of this. They even provide free lockers and strollers.

You enter via a black pod shaped vehicle. Something very unique. Its called the Dark Ride and last for about 4 minutes. The Dark Ride really makes you feel that you are travelling in space.

There is alot of interactive displays to try. My son's favourite was the Mini Excavator and the Oil Rig Escape Chute.

I didn't take much photos as I busy explaining different experiments and displays to my six year old. We even tried the Hurricane Simulator, where the wind reaches to 130km per hour. Then we moved on to the Geotime Diorama where we greated by a large moving dinosaur. Here you learn about earth, fossil and petroleum. Then you move on to the Exploration exhibits where you learn the inner workings of the oil and gas explorations. Here's where my son tried the Chute and the Mini Excavator. Then we moved to the Sparkz, where there's more interactive displays to try. As for my two year old he enjoyed the Giant Lego blocks so much so I had to pull him away from it.

Below are some pictures I've found on Flickr. All licensed to Creative Commons-

But going there and experiencing for your self is better.

Its quite cheap. Two adults and 1 Child and one inan, we only paid RM45.00. Don't forget to bring your MyCard as foreigner pay a different price. If you can avoid he school holidays as it gets really crowded.

There were a few things that we couldn't try as they were so much people wanting to try it. Example was the Race Car and the Robot Football. But all in all it was a great place to bring the kids. They will get a hands on xperience about science.

My Hotel Review of Impiana KLCC

Impiana KLCC is a great home base for exploring Kuala Lumpur

I chose the Impiana due to its location as we were planning on visiting the Aquaria and Petrosains.

Check in and check out was fast even though they have only few counters available. The room we got, had wooden flooring, which was fine by me. Reason being as a parent, I feel that hotel carpets are not hygienic. You can see the wooden floor if its dirty or dusty. The view wasn't fantastic (view of a office building) but it was alright as we spend the whole day visiting the Aquaria, Petrosains and the Petronas Twin Towers. The room even had a bathtub which both my son and wife enjoyed soaking themselves. The room was clean and toiletries was adequate, housekeeping even came in the evening on both days to check if everything was ok and gave me without any additional charge a blanket. Thats what you call “Seeing to the Guest Needs”. The TV Channels had the Malaysian Channels, Movies, Disney and so on. They even provided a DVD Player which had a USB slot but it didn't work when I tried to plug in my Thumbdrive.

Both days we had breakfast at the Tonka Bean Cafe. The variety there was good, there were lots to eat ranging from Western to Local Dishes.

I was surprised and happy that there was a covered, air conditioned walkway connecting the hotel to KLCC and the Twin Towers. We didn't need to face the cars or even the Kuala Lumpur heat. The walkway was also a blessing as it rained when we about to return to the hotel. The bell staff said that the walkway even leads to the Pavillion Shopping Centre but we didn't venture there as we were too tired.

My Verdict

For me the Impiana KLCC is a great home base for exploring Kuala Lumpur. Don’t worry so much about the view of your room (unless you are going to spend the whole day in the room). There’s lots to do outside and the covered, air-conditioned pathway is a great help but avoid the rush hour when people return from work. Rooms are clean and services is alright.

Restaurant Promotion Idea #28 – Twelve Days of Christmas Promotional Ideas

On the last day of the 12 days Christmas Specials, why don’t you thank your customers for a great year and also build rapport for future business. Homemade gifts are great as it shows the customer how valuable they are as you have taken a lot of thought into preparing the gifts. Here are some gift ideas that you can try Restaurant Promotion Ideas # 27 – Year End Holiday Gift for your Customers Christmas can be a big profit driver if you do it right and the results of building holiday revenue can spill over far into the new year if you do a great job of impressing existing and new customers of how great your restaurant is and how much they will want to come back again soon.   Click here for more

12 Promotion Ideas for the 12 days of Christmas

Christmas DinnerInstead of doing just a one day Christmas Promotion, why don’t you do 12 days of Christmas Promotion Activity which will stretch until the Feast of Epiphany. The more days you do a promotion, the more revenue you will receive for your restaurant. To make it more fun, work around the 12 Days of Christmas Lyrics. Here are 12 days of creative promotional ideas that I’ve found along the way.

On the first day of Christmas - my true love sent to me: A Partridge in a Pear Tree

Gift Cards

Give out Gift cards with future discounts or free gifts to all customers visiting your restaurant on the first day of Christmas. You can give out discounts, free gifts even services from other companies like a manicure, car wash vouchers. The list is endless. Print out different gift card vouchers, put in a nice Christmas Theme Envelope, place it at your cashier counter. So when they pay the bill they can draw their lucky gift card.

On the second day of Christmas - my true love sent to me: Two Turtle Doves

Couple Night Out

On the second day of Christmas have a couple’s night out. Parents need a much needed rest after all the Christmas planning for their family’s Christmas event. A day when parents can relax and enjoy a nice lunch or dinner date without the children. Create a romantic candlelight Christmas Theme Dinner for two. If you are near to a daycare centre, workout a package where the daycare centre can take care of their kids while they dine. Create a menu without the turkey or other Christmas dishes, because some people get really bored with all the Christmas dishes year in year out.

On the third day of Christmas - my true love sent to me: Three French Hens

Buy Three pay only for Two

Do a promotion where three people dine and only pay for two special.

On the fourth day of Christmas - my true love sent to me: Five Golden Rings

Acts of Kindness

The holiday season is an especially good time to kick off a Community Service initiative for your organization. Choose a day in the week to do some community service with your staff and maybe some of your regulars or suppliers. Work together to visit old folks homes, orphanage and many more places that you can spread love. It will be a fun gathering for every one and also lift everyone’s hearts. Try to get this event in the local newspaper. Even your suppliers can get some marketing leverage when the media gets hold of this story. It’s a real Win – Win situation for all. A few days before Christmas hold a Gift Collection Booth in your Restaurant with names of Kids from the local orphanage and what they would like for Christmas. Your customers can pick a kid buy the present, wrap it up and deposit at the booth. On the Community Service Day you can go and give out the presents with the person who bought it if they want to follow.

On the fifth day of Christmas - my true love sent to me: Five Golden Rings

Christmas Thank You Parties

December and Christmas is the ideal season for companies to host year end thank you parties for their staff. Large companies do it at function rooms or restaurants. Holiday parties are not only reserved for large companies, even small companies these days try to reward their employees with a holiday party. To save on costs these companies do it in their offices, here is where you come in. Create a catering menu that you can do and that is easily transported. Create flyers and give out to the companies in your vicinity. This year the fifth day of Christmas falls on a Saturday, create special packages that small companies can reserve a corner of your restaurant to do a small thank you party for their staff (if you have the space).

On the sixth day of Christmas - my true love sent to me: Six Geese a Laying

50% Discount

As we are half way through our 12 days of Christmas, give out 50% discounts on selected items in your restaurant. A discount always attracts people.

On the seventh day of Christmas - my true love sent to me: Seven Swans a Swimming

Before the Party Buffet Dinner

The seventh day of Christmas falls on New Year Eve. There will be New Year Celebrations in most bars and disco. You can capitalize on this by offering a before the part Buffet Dinner. You can use words like “Charge up your batteries before the party starts”, “Make sure you’re on full tank before you party”

On the eighth day of Christmas - my true love sent to me: Eight Maids a Milking

New Year’s Day Brunch

The Eight Day of Christmas falls on New Year’s Day, a day when most people wake up late due to heavy partying or just want to wake up late on the first day of the year. Hold a New Year’s Day Brunch. Print flyers early and distribute around, so as your customers can plan ahead. Search the net for different brunch menus which others are doing. Mix and match to suit your clientele and location.

On the ninth day of Christmas - my true love sent to me: Nine Ladies Dancing

Ladies Night Out

Have a special ladies night where all ladies pay half price or get a free cocktail when they dine at your restaurant.

On the tenth day of Christmas - my true love sent to me: Ten Lords a Leaping

Men’s Night Out

This is for the men. Have a beer specials for men only with a special discounted price. Maybe add some dart boards or even a foosball table. If there’s live matches on, show it on a big screen.

On the eleventh day of Christmas - my true love sent to me: Eleven Pipers Piping

Yahooo the Kids are in School

Check your calendar. Most schools will start during the first week of January. Most parents will be relieved as they had to endure a whole month of their kids and is happy that school starts. Have a special buffet for parents, especially if you are near to a school. Parents can drop by for lunch after they drop off their kids.

On the twelfth day of Christmas - my true love sent to me: 12 Drummers Drumming

 Year End Gifts

9 Ways Gratitude Can Make You Happier, Fitter and Richer

Your parents taught you to mind your manners. You write thank you notes and tip your barista. But there’s more to being grateful than going through the motions. According to numerous studies, true gratitude is a powerful force that can improve your relationships, increase happiness and even boost immunity. Deep down, most of us know this to be true. But we still have trouble taking time from our busy lives to actually stop, reflect and give thanks for what matters most. The good news: Making the effort to get grateful is easier than you’d expect, and it’s way more effective that you might imagine.

Why It Pays to Be Grateful

Spend just minutes each day reflecting on what you’re grateful for and we can pretty much guarantee you’ll see a snowball effect resulting in physical, psychological and social benefits. Here’s the catch: You need to get grateful throughout the year — not just on Thanksgiving.

One study published in the Journal of Psychosomatic Research confirmed that individuals who had a more grateful outlook got better quality shut eye, stayed asleep longer and required less time to fall asleep than their less grateful peers. Perhaps more impressive, people who spent times focusing on grateful thoughts exercised for 1.5 more hours each week, compared to people who spent time focusing on the hassles in their life, according to a study in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. Plus, at least eight studies have shown that people who express gratitude tend to show fewer symptoms of depression.

A grateful state of mind can help you win big in business, too. Once study conducted atHarvard Business School, found that participants who were prompted to think of a time when they were grateful were less likely to act impulsively when it came to financial choices when compared with people who were prompted to think of something happy or neutral. Gratitude increases our level of patience, researchers suggested.

“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it,” William Arthur Ward, an American writer, once said. In honor of Thanksgiving, here are nine simple ways to cultivate gratefulness every other day of the year.

10 Easy Ways to Start Being More Grateful

1. Bust out your old diary.Studies show that people who make weekly gratitude journal entries feel better about their lives and more optimistic about the future. Not into breaking out the pen and paper? Try using an app. We like Five Minute Journal, which prompts you to write down three things you’re grateful for, three things that would make the day awesome and three affirmations (e.g. “I am confident,” “I am kind”) each day.

Why We Love Aquaria KLCC (And You Should, Too!)

Our educational family outing at Aquaria KLCC

Aquaria KLCC 1 This year during the Year End School holiday and as it was my son’s birthday, we did a trip to the Aquaria at KLCC. My wife and I have this thing about giving our sons experiences to remember rather than giving them gadgets. We’ve been to the Coral Wonderland in Melaka which was OK. But the Aquaria were awesome.  It’s been a long time since we went for a trip together as my youngest caught a deadly virus called Kawasaki but luckily he recovered. All thanks to the Doctors at Tuanku Jaafar Hospital Seremban. They were really great. It’s not only me who said that but the other patients there said the same thing. Well let’s get back to our outing at the Aquaria KLCC. Before that here’s some info on the Aquaria.

7 Quotes From Abraham Lincoln That Will Inspire You To Work Your Ass Off

Self-educated lawyer, the 16th president of the United States led the federal republic through its Civil War, its bloodiest war and its greatest moral, constitutional and political crisis. Meanwhile, he preserved the Union, abolished slavery, strengthened the federal government, and modernized the economy. While his bragging rights can go for days, we will focus on his knowledge.

He left vast topics of knowledge, endless quotes and gave us written fortune to inspire us to become the best version of ourselves. The next 7 quotes from Abraham Lincoln will inspire you to work your ass off (and you know which ass I’m talking about.)

1. “In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.”
If you think on the perspective to live longer, and not on the point of view to make the years count, you are wasting your time. In fact, you are wasting your LIFE.

We do not consider the fact that one day we will all die, and believe me that’s not scary, but inspirational. It reveals the shocking truth about the fear of death.

If you see the perspective of all geniuses, poets, artists and successful businessman that left and still have recognition in this world, you will see that they all say the same thing.

“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.” – Mark Twain

“If you live each day as it was your last, someday you’ll most certainly be right” – Steve Jobs

“Live everyday as if it were your last because someday you’re going to be right.” – Muhammad Ali

They said these things to inspire the upcoming generations and people who need a mind push. Everything you do today that doesn’t matter is madness and a waste of life.

The best way to change that is to start doing your own thing, your own life and create your own reality. Make each day count!

2. “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.”

Human survival instinct comes since the beginning of time. If we are tested with harsh times, we can all cope with that, one way or another. But if you want to see what the real “lab mice” is doing in a man’s brain, give him power.

And how is this knowledge inspirational? If you really want to be successful person (however you measure and understand success) you need to be prepared to behave like a real leader when you hold elevated power in your hands.

People don’t understand that winning the lottery can be the worst thing that has ever happened to them (don’t get me wrong on this one). It’s not that you need money. You need something to feel worthy of, which most people think is money.

Now, you need money. You definitely do. But most of all you need something that you will find joy and happiness on the way.

So be prepared to hold power, but don’t seek it immediate. One day at a time …

3. “You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.”

The first thing that a man of value should do is to finish everything scheduled for the day. No but, no later, no tomorrow. Now.

If you want to be a weakling, you will keep rescheduling your life for tomorrow and later. It’s always harder to keep your word. Not for people around you, but for you. You should feel uncomfortable to reschedule stuff for later. That’s when you have the habit of doing things now.

If you reschedule things now, you worsen yourself, your mindset, and your whole environment, since everything you do affects something in this world. Think of you as a connecting tissue to a whole organism. If you decide not to play your part, you will destroy whole body.

Do things now. Don’t wait for your ghost to do things for you.

4. “The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.”

As we mentioned in number two, the real test comes when we hold elevated power.

If you think in terms that the future comes one day at a time, you won’t have to worry about the future at all.

Every whole is consisted of small things. Let’s reveal the brains function to unravel the theory.

The brain is formulated from three main parts: forebrain, midbrain and hindbrain. The forebrain is the main control center for sensory and associative information processing, visceral functions, and voluntary motor functions also called – prosencephalon.

The midbrain acts as a relay information system for the auditory, visual, and motor systems of the body.

And the last part of the brain is the hindbrain which controls basic functions like breathing, heart rate and blood pressure.

Even though we took the most complex organ to prove simple theory, you get the point that a whole can’t become a whole unless you build it one day at a time (e.g. your brain and all functions builds up since you were infant.)

Everything will come sooner or later. Your job is to strive for better future and brighter tomorrow.

5. “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.”

The real wisdom lies in preparation. You can’t outrun a marathoner just by thinking that you will.

Every goal and achievement lies in training and preparation, meaning experience.

There are many quotes stating that everything you can imagine is real. Well, winning a marathon, being the best executive manager or CEO of an industrial company can’t be real if you don’t sharpen your knowledge to become one. When you see, experience lies in knowing how to solve a problem or tangled situation in a spontaneous period, or a period of time when you least expect it. If everyone knew that crises are coming, they are not called crisis, right?

Give yourself time to prepare to become what you want to become, and believe me you will. Surround yourself with being the best version in whatever you want to become. Obsess with the fact that you will become best at it. Your surrounding and your automatism will form the future for you. That’s how the law of attraction works.

Sharpen the axe next time you prepare for battle.

6. “Whatever you are, be a good one.”

The whole humanity is consisted of 7+ billion people, and if you ask me it’s not possible for all to be soccer players, CEO’s nor executive managers. Everyone plays different part.

So if you chose to be either of them, formulate a master plan to become the best in that area. If you strive to be many things, you will end up being none.

Even if Abraham stated this wisdom extensively, he meant to inspire people to become the best version in their sphere of knowledge or talent.

So next time you doubt why you loved playing ballet instead of going boxing, remember that people have different roles in this world. Do your own thing.

7. “Don’t worry when you are not recognized, but strive to be worthy of recognition.”

Being recognized is not the best thing. You can be as famous as Adolf Hitler, but definitely not worthy of recognition.

It’s not about being famous. It’s about being recognized for valor and heroism, or something you have done best and different than others. Something that always gave you a choice of letting it go and return the previous habits, or throw all away and strive for greatness, while you always chose the former.

Believe me that being worthy of recognition always takes to be different and unique, while I believe everyone hold that uniqueness once they let it shine through their human body.

10 Leadership Lessons From the U.S. Navy Seal Who Led the bin Laden Mission

Every CEO has a list of leaders and mentors he or she looks up to or has learned from. Here’s a new one for your list.

Admiral William H. McRaven is the former commander of U.S. Navy SEAL Team 3 and the current commander of the U.S. Special Operations Command. He led the mission which resulted in finding Osama bin Laden. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, he recently gave the commencement address at his alma mater, and offered the graduates 10 lessons from his SEAL training that every leader can benefit from. He said, if you want to change the world:

1. Start off by making your bed. The first thing a sailor does every morning is make his bed. This sets him or her off on the right footing and gives a sense of pride. Begin every day by accomplishing a small task. It will make you feel good and put you on the right footing.

2. Find someone to help you paddle. It takes a team of seven SEALs to get across the heavy San Diego surf in a raft. The task is impossible to do alone. You can’t change the world alone—accept that you will need some help.

3. Measure a person by the size of their heart, not the size of their flippers. He tells a story of a SEAL team that was the ‘runt of the litter,’ but outswam, outpaddled and outran the big guys every time. Judge people by their character and nothing else.

4. Get over being a sugar cookie and keep moving forward. Recruits whose uniforms didn’t pass inspection were required to dive into the ocean in full uniform, then roll around in the sand, an exercise they nicknamed being a ‘sugar cookie’. They had to stay in those wet, sandy uniforms all day. The ones who got frustrated didn’t survive because they didn’t get the true message: Things are never going to be perfect all the time.

5. Don’t be afraid of the “circuses.” Recruits who didn’t meet daily standards or time tests ended up on a list and had to participate in a “circus.” “Circuses” were additional training exercises designed to wear already tired recruits down. Many didn’t make it, but those who did, ironically, ended up being stronger and harder than those who didn’t go through a lot of “circuses.”

6. Sometimes you have to slide down the obstacle head-first. A candidate broke a hand-over-hand upside down crawling-across-a-rope record by instead sliding across the top of the bar head first. What he did was really risky and no one else had ever tried it. But he tried it and he succeeded. He not only broke the record, he reset the bar.

7. Don’t back down from the sharks. Recruits who encompass a shark on a swimming exercise are ordered not to back down from it, but rather to punch it in the nose. McRaven tells the graduates, there are a lot of sharks in the world. If you’re going to succeed in life, you’ve got to face your sharks.

8. Be your very best in the darkest moment. Part of SEAL training is to conduct attacks on enemy ships. This requires being deep under pitch black water while listening to loud, distracting noises from the ship’s engines and systems. It’s very easy to get disoriented and fail. Every SEAL, he said, knows that when it’s darkest is the time when you need to be the most calm, composed and focused.

9. Start singing when you’re up to your neck in mud. During hell week, McRaven’s team of trainees found themselves in freezing cold mud up to their necks and were required to remain there for eight hours, until dawn. Just when it seemed that several of them were about to give up, one started singing, then another and another. All of sudden, they had hope. “If I have learned anything in my time traveling the world,” he said, “it is the power of hope. The power of one person—Washington, Lincoln, King, Mandela and even a young girl from Pakistan, Malala—one person can change the world by giving people hope.”

10. Don’t ever, ever ring the bell. In SEAL training, recruits who want to give up simply have to ring a bell that hangs in the center of the compound. His final message: If you want to change the world, don’t give up. Don’t ever, ever ring that bell.
