A Peaceful Resort by the Lake - Pullman Putrajaya

This is my second time checking in Pullman Lakeside Resort. The last time was for our company team building some two years ago. I booked Pullman again because I thought it is located on the lake overlooking the Millennium Monument where the 6th Putrajaya Hot Air Balloon was being held. But what I failed to notice was that the lake was large, long and the Monument was on the other side of the lake. The very far end. The hotel is really quite hard to locate as with most places in Putrajaya. Just look for the Putrajaya International Convention Centre. As for me I used my trusty WAZE.

But it’s OK. The hotel is really peaceful for those that want to relax. For those that are in need of activities or nightlife avoid this place. We arrive quite late so we just lazed around. We had the room on the Jasmine Wing which had an Indian Theme. The room was decorated to suit the theme. There is a large bench by the window side. As we were too lazy to drive out, we had dinner in their all day dining restaurant which was reasonably priced and fast.

As the bed was comfortable and zircon was great we woke up late the next day that we missed the morning flight session of the Hot Air Balloon. We later had brunch there.

Even the daily newspaper came in a cloth bag.

The Pullman Lakeside is a quiet and peaceful hotel. It’s a great place for Rest and Relaxation. The services there were also very good especially from the Front Desk who went out of their way to help. They even left the counter to open doors and help with baggage. Housekeeping services was good too. I ordered a baby cot and got it a few minutes later with a follow-up call to inquire whether we got our baby cot.

6th Putrajaya International Balloon Fiesta 2014

As I am residing in Port Dickson which so much closer to Putrajaya, I plan to bring my little ones for The 6th Putrajaya International Balloon Fiesta 2014 in Putrajaya Malaysia. It will be held for four days from the 27th – 30th March 2014 during the first term school holidays. From the main website it is stated there will be more than 20 hot air balloons from all over the world, including at least five special shaped hot air balloons. It is said there is going to be a Darth Vader balloon. The time when they will float the balloons will be in the mornings and in the evenings, so it’s going to be a unique experience for my two heroes. Admission is free.

From their website it also states that there will also be the Mountain Dew Extreme Zone which will boasts an array of outdoor fun activities including water zorbing and rock climbing for the adventurous. Lots of food and beverage outlets. For the kids there will be a Kids’ Play Area that will offer a variety of amusement rides, coloring contests, arts & crafts and many more. At night there will be an explosive ‘Night Glow’ event, where hot air balloons and strobe lights are lit up in sync to the sounds of popular music followed by fireworks display. That is one of the reason that I chose to stay at Pullman Putrajaya as the resort is located just across the lake with a great view of the Hot Air Balloon area. So we don't need to travel out, we just need sit by the lake and enjoy the view. The website to go to know more about this event is www.myballoonfiesta.com
